Rotary's Beaconsfield Festival of Lights is jointly organised by the Rotary Clubs of Beaconsfield and Jordans.
About thirty local charities and community organisations have stalls and the main road through Beaconsfield New Town is closed during the evening. About three hundred local children take part in a procession which includes a band, pipers, stilt walkers and, of course, Father Christmas. Carol Singing follows this on the Council Green.
Although mainly a community event a Charity is chosen every year and this year it is SignHealth.
Sign... The National Society for Mental Health and Deafness has changed its name, and changed its focus. The charity is now called SignHealth. It will now campaign on all areas of healthcare, not just mental health.
